Sail Morotai Will Reconstruction WWII History

Ternate – Sail Morotai agenda that was held in the District of Morotai Island, North Maluku will reconstruct the history of World War II. “Momentum Sail Morotai will reconstruct the history of World War II because of Morotai is one of the best tourist areas of history,” said Governor North Maluku, Thaib Armaiyn in Ternate, Thursday (01/26/2012).

In addition, according Thaib, Morotai-called ‘Pearl of the Pacific Lip’ will take advantage of Sail Morotai as a momentum to actualize the spirit of the gate in the Pacific, with the hope that the international event is not just a successful implementation, but also a successful outcome.

Moreover, said the governor, Presidential Decree No. 4 of 2012 dated January 24, 2012 regarding the implementation of the national committee of Sail Morotai had been published, so that the preparation process will be maximized.

Governor of North Maluku, said, as the theme into a new era pacific regional economy will be further developed, especially the improvement of infrastructure facilities in the district of the island of Morotai, following the approach of the implementation of the Sail Morotai in September 2012.

“I have instructed the Regional Unit of Work Tools (SKPD) in the North Maluku provincial government related infrastructure improvements Morotai to immediately complete a variety of needs related to the implementation of the Sail Morotai later,” he said.

To that end, the Governor of North Maluku appealed to the public and other stakeholders to have no doubt about the certainty of implementation Sail Morotai in the District Island Morotai this year.

Infrastructure to support the implementation of Sail Morotai, the Governor of North Maluku said, also continues to do well with funds from the central government as well as from North Maluku budget Province and Budgets District Morotai Island. “Special of the North Maluku provincial government, in this 2012 budget is allocated a budget of Rp 56 billion to build a variety of infrastructure  related to Sail Morotai operation,” said Thaib.

In World War II, Morotai twice suffered foreign occupation. First, by Japanese soldiers under the command of General Kawashima in 1942 and, second, by Allied forces in 1944 under the command of General Douglas McArthur.
