West Kalimantan insensitive from Markets fluctuation of World

West Kalimantan so far not affected by the trend of weakening demand for various commodities from international markets.

West Kalimantan is the producer of commodities such as crude palm oil and rubber.

Head of the Plantation West Kalimantan, Hiarsolih Buchori, in Pontianak, Saturday (02/04/2012), said the region has not been too affected by the downward trend in demand at the international level, against a variety of commodities.

“West Kalimantan plantation commodities exported via other places, such as Jakarta, Medan, and Surabaya so that until recently the impact of the global economy has not affected this region,” said Hiarsolih.

Governor of West Kalimantan, Cornelis, argued, products processed from farm commodities in West Kalimantan, such as crude palm oil (CPO) did not experience a decline in demand.

“If the CPO from West Kalimantan, China’s biggest market to date is still high demand,” said Cornelis.
